Praying and God’s glory

George Mueller once said, “if you desire anything for God’s glory pray until you get it”.

So, what do you think about that?

  1. I desire 1 million dollars for God's glory. I'm gonna pray until I get it.

  2. I think Mueller loved God's glory more than most of us do. In response to Anonymous, Mueller did pray for and receive roughly $7 million, but it wasn't for selfish gain; every penny of it went to fund the orphanages he founded. There may not be anyone alive today who had the combination of faith, self-sacrifice (he lived very simply), and love for God's glory that he did.

  3. I agree--we should pray for what glorifies Him most and accomplish the greatest good. Jesus , praying in the garden, desired to have the cup pass from Him, but prayed nevertheless they will be done.

We don't always know what will glorify Him most, do we. His thoughts are much higher than ours. But His glory should be our focus in all of our lives and prayers.
