Pray For You Wife: 31 Day Challenge---Day One

I’m amazed at the response so far we have over 1,050 people signed up on Facebook to pray for their wives for 31 days. This is not to mention those of you that have opted to follow along through the blog. I’m excited to see what the Lord does to further His glory as we pray for our wives.

Remember if you are only following the prayer challenge through the blog that you will need to comment on this post, either a prayer of your or a simple statement that says, “done”. This is so we can keep each other accountable.

Day one begins now:

Day One: That She Would Have an Abiding Satisfaction in God

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. –Psalm 16:11

The greatest thing that we can pray for our wives is that she will be eternally satisfied in God. It is at His right hand where pleasure is to be found. It is in His presence and His presence alone where the fullness of joy is to be found; for our wives to drink from any other fountain will only multiply her sorrows (Psalm 16:4). Therefore, we must pray that our wives find their deepest satisfaction in God.

Father, I pray that you would cause my wife to find her deepest satisfaction in You. Rescue her from looking to other things to find satisfaction and pleasures. Help me to lead her in my enjoyment of You. At your right hand is where joy is found. Help us to truly believe this and live accordingly. In Jesus name, Amen.

  1. Eternal Father,

I pray for my wife's spiritual joy. That you would turn her sighs in to song's of joy as she fully abides in you. Help me to lift her up in prayer daily and to lead her into full joy in your everlasting presence. In Jesus name, Amen.

  2. Done (back on 8/1, tried to post on 8/2, but must have been in a hurry and blown past the captcha)

  3. Father, help my wife abide in the vine, to drink from the cool refreshing streams and to lie down in confident comfort in the green pastures. In Jesus Name. Amen!

  4. Father, I pray that Lois would find her satisfaction in you. As busy as she gets in your name and as exhausted as she can become at the end of the day for her activities in evangelizing children, I pray that she finds her rest in you and her energy throughout the day in you.

  5. I'm not married yet, but I'll be proposing on the 25th.

LORD, please fill her heart with joy in You and You alone. Please give her patience and wisdom that spurns from a loving trust in Your sovereignty. And not only in Your omnipotence, LORD, but in your love for us. What good is a trust in Your power if we don't trust in Your desire for our good to Your glory. I ask that she would be true to see all things here as shadows and reflections of who You are, that her heart would yearn to be with you in the day of Christ's return. In Jesus sweet name, Amen.
